Counselling
Hi, I am a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) in the Province of Ontario. I am a certified member with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) and the Canadian Alliance for Children’s Grief (CACG). I have 23+ years of front-line Social Work and counselling experience supporting children, families and the community. I have worked in one of our local hospitals supporting the mental health of individuals and their families coming into the emergency room for many concerns including: severe depression and anxiety, substance misuse, partner violence, grief and bereavement, end-of-life counselling and chronic illness. I also supported those who were receiving chemotherapy and their families. I then transitioned to work at the local VON clinic as a social worker seeing clients for a variety of mental health concerns similar to those listed above. How can I help?; I work with adults of all ages, supporting individuals with a variety of life’s challenges. Some of these include grief/bereavement, anxiety, depression, anger struggles, self-esteem, life transitions, relational difficulties, chronic pain, illness, legacy planning and those considering MAiD. My therapeutic approach; I offer compassionate, respectful and professional support. Therapy is a unique and deeply personal journey, I am here to help you honour your healing process, as it appears for you. I offer support and gentle guidance to help you (and your loved ones) navigate grief and bereavement in a way that feels right for you. I look forward to supporting you!
How It All Began
My practice was founded from a deep passion for holistic, trauma informed, attachment based, patient-focused wellness. This journey began with the recognition of a need for a space where care and compassion come together seamlessly.
By being trauma informed, attachment based; it "merges trauma-informed care principles with attachment theory to heal deep emotional wounds, especially those from early life, by creating a safe therapeutic bond that fosters trust, emotional regulation, and healthier relationships, helping individuals move from insecure attachment styles (anxious/preoccupied, avoidant/dismissing, disorganized/unresolved) to more secure ones, addressing issues like anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationship conflicts. It views past relational hurts as survival strategies, not flaws, and uses the therapeutic relationship as a model for new, secure/earned secure connection"
Your Well-being Matters
Every individual deserves a compassionate space to explore their thoughts and feelings. I am dedicated to providing a supportive environment where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered on your journey to healing.
